Comfort (at the end of a long day)
About the Art: I started this sculpture as an exploration of the relationships between people and animals, specifically dogs. I love my dogs with all my heart, and I know many people love their pets. I also wanted to look at what it means when an animals becomes more than a pet, becomes a working animals. In this sculpture of a soldier and his bomb detection dog I wanted to show not only the love, but their devotion, dependence, respect and how their lives literally depend on each other. Their bond is co-workers, fellow soldiers, friends, and after a difficult day their relationship shows the comfort they give each other.
